Pippin is coming…

On November 12th I finally announced that we will produce ‘Pippin’ as our spring musical!

This hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tale captivated Broadway audiences and continues to appeal to the young at heart everywhere. The energetic pop-influenced score by three-time Oscar-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz bursts with one showstopping number after another, from soaring ballads to infectious dance numbers. Pippin won five of its 11 Tony nominations when it premiered in 1972.

Mrs. Raskopf and I are already working on many ways to bring this energetic and extraordinary show to the Greenville stage. If you’d like to familiarize yourself with the musical numbers and Bob Fosse’s orignal concept for the show, I suggest you check out the following links:

Click here for a YouTube Playlist of the 1981 live performance starring Ben Vereen and William Katt. This version is much more ‘out there’ than our version will be, so don’t get freaked out by the weird stuff.

The best price I’ve found on the soundtrack is over here at Amazon. You can download all 15 tracks (plus three bonus tracks) in MP3 format for only $9.49
